St Stephen’s Day.
Woken up by the voice of a loud voice downstairs, it was coming from aunties fall sensor emergency response centre. Fortunately the sensor was in her dressing gown pocket and she had sat on it and triggered the alarm system, phew. I was greeted by auntie brandishing the sink plunger telling me that the toilet was blocked, the positive side of this was that the Docusate had done its work at last. After a short while and an improvised drain rod made from a short piece of hose pipe all was returned to normal.
A lovely 8 mile run on a bright but chilly morning with green woodpecker and nuthatches being the loudest voices heard.
A trip to cousin B’s home in Exeter where family members were gathered to exchange gifts and eat more festive delights, oh and experience the joys of Marley a 3 month old puppy.
I returned to Barnstaple to watch the local rugby derby with J’s son playing for Bideford. With the teams playing in different leagues the match was a tad one sided but the bar and hog roast were well supported by those who attended. Extra, Marley asking “what’s that you have there?”
All in all a good day.
