A Bird in the Bush

Managed to get out for a quick walk this morning between showers, and I saw this rather large bird take off from one of the drainage canals and then settled in a bush.

I'm not sure what it is as I've not been able to find a similar picture on the web. It was about the size of a heron.

Only one week left here in Guyana and my stint here will be complete and it will be back home to Britain. I'm looking forward to a return to cooler and fresher climes as it's getting hotter and more humid here.
