Boxing Day
A quiet start, a blast of fresh air, tidying up some Christmas chaos and then the usual table, heaving with carbs.
Gratefuls:
1. Cousins;
2. Games;
3. Isaac coping well despite a cold hitting hard;
4. A very precious conversation with little Zeke. His heart was so full of worries - he’s rarely up for a deep conversation but he amazed me at bedtime and told me about some of his worrying. One element of the chat centred on magic/Santa and I was glad to be able to tell him about the heart of St Nick and his secret present giving which all flowed from his faith. We agreed that magic happens all the time - he said “being given a lovely life is a sort of magic”. And honestly, I’m 39 and I haven’t yet given up hope that fairies are real. I’m absolutely convinced there are angels all around us. Anyway, our boy went to sleep lighter and full of joy.
