Chaffinch

I had to do all sorts of fiddling with this to make its colours show. There's been sleety, slushy rain on and off all day with some actual snow thrown into the mix. Slippy underfoot and just not very pleasant weather.

I was supposed to be walking with a friend this morning but we decided to wait for more clement weather. I saw my elder son, grandson and my daughter at lunchtime. Then they came back here for a cup of tea and a mince pie. My grandson declined that delicacy.

Tomorrow is the festive family lunch here and I have lots of cooking, baking and other prep to do but I think I'm going to make another cup of tea and settle down with my book!
