Sunshine and rain

Woke to a lovely morning.  The forecast stated rain later so opted for a morning dog walk.  If only the holiday season could continue to keep the ratrunners away.  

At home the hound couldn't seem to settle despite having been walked and fed.  He kept pacing about and doing his whistley whine.  Eventually he settled on his bed and I covered him with blankets.  He let out a big sigh, flopped and soon was asleep. 

I finished my whodunnit - Holy Island by LJ Ross -a gripping read.  Now in complete contrast, reading my Christmas present, This Much Is True by Miriam Margolyes.

Second dog walk in gloomy weather with a halfhearted drizzle.  The morning's sun completely disappeared behind a sheet of uniform grey cloud.  Got in before the rain intensified.

Blip - Noticed the bird's nest in the hazel, visible now the leaves have fallen. 

Now enjoying coffee and resumption of reading.
