Snowy Winter Wedding

Another photo from my collection of old wedding photos.  Taken in the late 1950's or early 1960's.  Ballerina length wedding and bridesmaids dresses were very popular in this era.

At one time getting married on Christmas Day was extremely popular, probably due to people not being able to take many days off work without losing their pay.  The Holidays with Pay Act of 1938 granted paid holidays for working class employees.  

It is still possible to get married on Christmas Day although I don't know anyone that has.
