Annual migration

There are huge numbers of brown-veined white butterfly (Benenois aurota) currently passing through Joburg, on their way to Mozambique.

Sadly this one didn’t make it but we watched many in groups fluttering high in the pine trees on our walk later in the day.

Despite the forecast indicating a stormy day, it’s been a lovely, but the sound of thunder is all around us now. Hopefully some rain will materialise this time.
