Ice Crystals
This pushy uppy ice crystal thing happens in certain places along the path where we walk up to the hayfield in the morning. The ice is pushing up from the dirt, pushing the dried dead leaves up. Before you step on it, it just looks like dead leaves. It's very very crunchy and weird to walk on. Also very cool looking. The Husband went into the vegetable garden to empty the compost the other day and said it's doing it in the mulch paths too. I'm not sure what the relationship to recent rain might be, but I presume the soil has to be moist for it to happen. We did have a lot of rain before the temperature plummeted.
We're about to have a warming trend though, so it'll be melting. Until the next time!
