Banks of the Tyne
Went for a walk down to the banks of the Tyne with Daisy and my neice Anna whilst visiting up North.
I was suprised to find that there remains some shipbuilding/repair working down here, I thought this had all gone to Japan decades ago. Across the river in this shot is another industry, making "subsea umbilical systems" and outsized cotton reels I think.
With Beth up in Newcastle at Uni and my sis needing a bit more support/love at the moment, I find myself rediscovering the area of my youth through new eyes, but this shot still needed that gritty mono contrasty thing harking back despite the modernity of the factory to a bygone age that still somehow lingers.
