Turkey in the Snow, Ho. Ho, Ho!

When I went out to collect the mail, I spotted some turkey tracks in the snow.  The old folk song immediately sprang to mind, "Turkey in the Straw".  I had to dig into its history and found out that it is, in fact, a very old American folk song, first performed at minstrel shows in 1834.  It is still a favorite at square dances. It has many different lyrics, some quite silly and nonsensical, like this version.   Just a little silliness for a Thursday morning.  Extra is a photo of the snow in Buffalo, NY.  Not a bit silly.  I will never complain about shoveling my front steps again!
