Mount Teide

A mix of weathers.  22⁰c this morning, dropped to 2⁰c and overcast, back to 28⁰c and sunny, calm all day.

Up early, and headed to catch the tour bus.  All on board, and our first stop was at Vilaflor, lovely mountain village.  Headed upwards and stopped Mt Teide. Headed back down the mountain and stopped for refreshments at Chío.  Bus moved on again, stopping at El Drago to see the dragon trees, and also lunch.  Next stop and walk was at Garachico.  We moved on again, stopping for views over the mountain village of Masca, and seriously steep bendy roads.  Back to the hotel, had late tea, a couple of quiet drams and then an early start again tomorrow.

We finally made it up the volcano.  It was still cold, about 2⁰c, most of the snow had thawed too.  At this point we were about 7,500 feet high, and still couldn't see the top due to the clouds.  We got a chance to walk around the area and take it the sights, I even had time to throw a snowball or two.  On our way back, we got to see the tip of the volcano, although through a dirty bus window.  What a brilliant day, and tried to get the extras in order of my list above.  Taken up Mount Teide, Tenerife.
