Did some reading up about tips for taking photos at gigs. Kept reading about using a 50mm. So I borrowed one.

I agree, it's a great lens, but not when you're on the balcony in the Queen's Hall.

Out of 170 photos, I have about 3 that are keepers. Oh well, shit happens.


It doesn't matter - I got to see John shake some moves (in his own inimitable style) and play with a great Icelandic band. I got to hear him sing and talk and entertain us. I've seen him twice before and am always blown away by his voice and words.

Next time I'll just need to check I've the right lens for the job!

Kept and eye out for middleman , but wasn't able to spot a bearded man with swimming goggles on. Shame.
