Bunjin Scots pine
This Scots pine reminds me of the class of bonsai known as bunjin, where most of the trunk is free of branches except for the top. It’s one of the trees I say hello to on my walk.
Couldn’t resist taking a photo with the day moon. The chimneys of the houses in the estate behind the tree are just visible at the bottom of the shot, to give a sense of how tall the tree is. Pin shows where I was standing, with my back to the big sycamore looking towards the river.
