Darkness
Had a busy Mother's Day afternoon at the garden, pulling out ivy (the key to the task seems to be being more tenacious than the ivy), digging holes and moving dirt. We planted dill among our pole beans and lettuce, since I read earlier in the day that they were beneficial. We piled up a mass of lemon balm seeds in the hope of a mass of lemon balm in the summer, when we'll need it to keep the mosquitoes off. Also, the requisite catnip, because there is never enough catnip, and always too much cat.
V. picked some chives and we brought them home and made this chickpea dish with it and some fresh shitakes and tomatoes from this Saturday's Farmer's Market. Our kitchen is really dark, so much of the color is lost in this photo, but I think you can see V.'s hands already grabbing at the dish.
