Warm

I am told that despite our youthful pessimism about growing older evidence shows that in many ways, life improves with age. We become happier and less anxious, more adaptive and resilient. We deepen our friendships and expertise, and shift our focus to the positive over the negative.

It sometimes doesn’t feel like that, with the loss of another ex RN friend in the run up to Christmas and the poor health/condition of other friends I often feel that meeting for a coffee or a beer acts as a health check or an “are we all still here?” headcount!

Today was a more relaxed day, a post Christmas tidy up day. Mrs S returned to work on a Long Day Shift, back to reality with a bump. Sam took herself off for the afternoon, Tiana headed out shopping whilst Joshua and I read and watched some TV.

Aside from the tins of biscuits, chocolates and the Christmas Cake the Christmas food is all but done, we are trying to minimise waste this year, sadly it seems as though it will be some of the vegan/vegetarian bits and bobs that get thrown away.

Joshua looks really warm in his woolly one piece, I feel I’d probably ‘cook’ in one.
