Brunch with Michaela
We hadn’t seen each other for ages, but her powerful talk at the Transgender Day of Remembrance back in November gave us a chance to reconnect, and today we met to catch up on each other’s lives. We found a brunch place with outdoor seating under large heaters, and we went for it.
She’s now working with Extinction Rebellion and caring for an old friend who is severely disabled. We do what we can. I told her what Margie said yesterday: it matters to hold each other’s hands. While the world crumbles or catches fire or whatever it’s going to do, we love as hard as we can and take care of each other as well as we can.
“Yeah. Caring for each other is pretty much the only reason for human existence that I can see,” Michaela agreed.
Evan came for Baba Time in the afternoon, and we packed away my modest Christmas decorations for another year. That's Christmas done, then.
