About to turn

Catch-up

The kitchen is full of pretty winter sunlight these days. We're due for rain tomorrow, but that might help me get some flower bulbs into the earth this weekend - at least the ground's no longer frozen.

We've had a pleasant, relaxing couple days at home, the four of us. It's been good to catch up with things around the house and spend some down time with the kids. D's semester didn't end well, he's still trying to finish assignments, and it's been difficult. He'll be home in January. I. will go back to school on Sunday.

As for me, I will be starting something entirely different the first week of the year: a new job at the hospital nearby, working in the emergency department, not (yet?) in a medical capacity but still interacting with patients. I'm excited about it and where it might lead. My sis-in-law and others over the past couple years have inspired me. The last few weeks have been busy with interviews and background/reference checks and all that. And as I'll be working the evening shift, my late-might blip habit will have to adjust!

Hope you all have a peaceful last day of 2022.
