On our walk today!
The gîte is now restored to pristine neat and tidiness ready for this evening’s guests. It’s their third visit, they come roughly every 18 months for a get together at the home of their friend from long-ago university days. She doesn’t have the space to put them all up, so they stay here.
She always says that they won’t need breakfast as she gives them brunch the morning after, but we do it anyway and they always eat it! 
This year Mr F has had to tour the countryside looking for a boulangerie which will be open on New Years Day, as rather strangely most of them seem to be closed! Our local has recently changed hands and they couldn’t say where the nearest open boulangerie would be! The old baker wouldn’t have been closed!
We’re not going out tonight, so it’s Champagne and Oysters (traditional New Year food in this area) for us this evening. What are you having?
