New Years Eve

...or Silvester as it is known here in the German part of Switzerland.

Thank you to everyone for the lovely comments and hearts left on my 10 year Blip anniversary, I enjoyed reading all of them.

The boys and Pip left early this morning to go skiing. They said in the morning the pistes are fine, but by noon they are starting to get slushy as it is so warm. Today it was 10C in the village which is ridiculous for this time of year, sunny and bright too. It seems I chose the worst day to ski as the pistes have been better every day, not as churned up.

Gavin and I went for a walk up the valley with Xena. There were many people walking and Xena met another Vizsla and had a fun play, and then had a greta time playing with a fluffy snowball - see extra. I took this photo on the walk, and there is another in the extras.

Tonight we are going out for dinner to celebrate Silvester. We have celebrated New Years Eve here for the past 18 years, with the exception of the two Covid years. It has become established as a tradition in our family to spend it here, although if I am honest this year feels a little flat - the lack of good snow means the village is not as buzzy as it usually is, and I am sorry that after the dinner the boys will be going back to the UK - Adam and Pip leave tomorrow, Luke and Tommy the day after, it seems sad that it is all over for another year.

NewYear is a time for reflecting back and looking forward - I wish everyone good health, much happiness, and fun times filled with love for the new year.
