Leila x 2

The woman in the painting is Leila Faithfull - a self-portrait. She was a 20th century painter who became a surgical artist (working with Archibald McIndoe) and a war artist who made images of life in Britain during WW2.

The other woman is  her grand-daughter, also called Leila.

When I originally posted this blip in 2016  her husband objected and I took it down but now (2022) I've decided to put it back.
