Harbour Seal
I hadn't been over to Shapinsay for quite a while so headed over this morning. Just me and the ferry crew on the way over. I cycled up to the hide at RSPB Mill Dam, then to Loch of Vasa and then back the same way. Birds all a bit distant included 100+ golden plover, 13 shoveler, 144 curlew, 9 whooper swans etc. There were over 30 harbour seals on the shore by the village shop. They could pull out somewhere quieter, but like seeing what's going on. Just about at the time I took this shot, orcas were dispatching a seal near Scapa pier.
