Flossmo

By Flossmo

We were up bright and early and arrived at Waitrose soon after eight o'clock to do the shopping for tomorrow's lunch party. The shop was almost empty, as was the car park. Furthermore, there were no fridges stacked high with party food, just the usual, run-of-the-mill items. I could hardly believe it. I can only assume that everyone shopped for tonight yesterday or, more likely, shopped online or, perhaps they were all at Lidl's. It wasn't a problem as I was still able to get a good selection of  items suitable for a buffet and the whole exercise was done in nothing flat. But it does seem to be a reflection of how shopping habits are changing.

Back home I got down to some serious cleaning whilst Mr Flossmo did some ironing. There was a lot to do as things have been neglected for a week and people coming tomorrow but we both found we fatigued really easily so had to do everything in short bursts.

The photograph was taken when we were out this morning. Despite the Christmas lights, the sodden bandstand seemed a million miles from the vibrant location where the summer concerts were held. I suppose it will all cycle around eventually.
