School journey
The excitement had been building all weekend but the day has finally arrived. Today was the day of the year 5 school trip to the Netherlands. They have an action packed five days planned with visits to a cheese market & auction, a flower market, a trip to a working windmill and a canal trip (no stereotyping going on here!)
My daughter was ready to leave the house before I had even got up this morning; she brought me a cup of tea to get me out of bed (but left it the other side of the bedroom so that I would need to get out of bed to reach it!)
We arrived at school fifteen minutes before we normally leave the house and I knew that I needed to get my hug and kiss before we left the car park as I would mysteriously become invisible to her once she met with her classmates.
I had an hour to kill until the bus departed but the weather was so miserable I didn't get a chance to take a single blip and ended up huddling in the school cafeteria with other damp (but seemingly not invisible) parents.
Luckily the rain stopped for a couple of minutes just before they departed so I managed to get this shot. I like the little boy sneaking into the frame at the top left and the colours on such a miserable day.
Once they were all on board and ready to depart us parents who were brave enough to endure the drizzle waved them off on their adventure.
As predicted my little girl was more interested in playing Top Trumps than waving at me, but I waved anyway!
This invisibility cloak could have its advantages though, I will need to think how best to use my new found super powers!
