Happy New Year Blippers!

We wimped out last night and went to bed. I actually slept better than expected which was a bonus. Not feeling too bad today. Pretty sure my mindful breathing I do with Pilates and generally being much fitter than I used to be has helped this bug not take too big a hold on me.

I did hear the fireworks and the dog growling at the car doors shutting and people walking home after midnight.

Walked round the block this morning whilst everyone still in bed, just 15 minutes but it spurred me on to join the virtual NC500 conqueror challenge. Something that has been tempting me for a while. I didn’t realise there are so many virtual challenges you can do.
You sign up (and pays your money - of course) and then link the app with your usual fitness app and away you go. Every mile counts. Throughout the journey they send you virtual postcards from significant checkpoints and at any time you can see on the map where you are and how much further you have to go.
Lots of exercise styles can count - running, cycling, swimming etc. For me it will be walking.
Just the quick walk this morning counted, see extra. I’ve left the starting point in Inverness and will check again tonight to see how much difference the dog walk made too.
I’ve set myself a target of 1 year, but I should think even with my usual daily walks it will be far less than that. We will see!
