Hope.

I had hoped New Year's Day would be a bright one, but no grey with showers.  The sun tried to get out but the clouds won and quickly blocked it.  This photo is of part of the Ennerdale Valley, showing Pillar with a little snow.  There is snow too on the ridge leading to Pillar and on the mountains in the distance one of which is Great Gable.
The 'flat topped' Fell in the centre is Bowness Knott where there is a carpark below it for those wanting to walk the northern side of the lake to Black Sail Youth Hostel or further.
