New Year...New Bug
I'm sure that I've seen this one around the yard, just have never identified it. It's a Narrow-headed Marsh Fly. N-HMFs are a species of syrphid fly (hoverfies) and are found all over the U.S. and Canada. It's medium-sized, 3/8" to 5/8" long and, at first glance, looks a lot like a bee and is similar to the Broad-headed Marsh Fly (but of course it is). Wishing All a Healthy and Happy New Year.
"Listen. I wish I could tell you it gets better. But, it doesn't get better.
You get better."
