New Year Dookers

As we were going over to Fife to see family in the afternoon and I would miss the 1pm Dook gathering at the foot of Bath Street I went out earlier in the morning. It seemed that while there were lots of people going in, there were very few with fancy dress on. Perhaps they were all saving themselves to join in at 1pm but in previous, pre-pandemic years there seemed to be small groups in fancy dress going in all morning. Perhaps it  is a reflection on the numbers of people who go in throughout the year - certainly lots of them had wild swimming gear, like my friends here A and L. Starting the new year off as I finished the old one, with a Porty portrait. Over in Fife for the afternoon we had some delayed family Christmas fun, with presents for A, J and E, some party food and a few more rounds of Dobble!
