HMS Edinburgh off Whitby

HMS Edinburgh, 'Fortress of the Sea', off Whitby. HMS Edinburgh is the last of the Type 42 destroyers and is on her way to Edinburgh and then Liverpool as part of her farewell tour. She was built at Cammell Laird, Birkenhead and launched in 1983. HMS Edinburgh will be decommissioned in June 2013. The veteran Type 42 destroyers are being replaced by six Type 45 destroyers.
