River Crossing
Did the two Munros An Sgarsoch and Carn an Fhidhleir. This involved a 12.5km cycle in and out and a 15 km walk over the two Munros. I managed the cycle in better than usual as I put semi-slick tyres on my Hybrid as I don't have a mountain bike. What a difference it made. We came to an unexpected water crossing and had to carry the bikes over while wading through. Dave came to my rescue by carrying mine for me. The water was freezing. We cycled on to the next expected river crossing where this photo was taken, leaving the bikes and walking over. The one in the red Allan is the tallest in the group and I am one of the shortest so it was very deep and cold for me.
We set off up the track to do the Munros, I was well up the track past the Geldie Lodge before the feeling came back into my toes. We got to the top of the first Munro and came down quite a bit before ascending again, however the gradient to the second one wasn't too bad. The hardest part was coming down and walking cross country to pick up path again. Lots of helpers on this walk RTPics showed where to cross the river before the track, he also has a description and photo of this walk as has Photorat whom I followed to avoid the worst of the peat hags.
The cycle back was mostly downhill with the wind on our backs to get back to the car
