Morning view

This wintry scene greeted us this morning from the kitchen window after a night of sub-zero temperatures. 
We waited until afternoon hoping the black ice would have melted before risking a walk up the road.
 
 But it soon became clear there was a smooth skin of ice. After meeting some friends including one whose husband, a super fit guy, had skidded and almost fallen, we decide to return to the cosy comfort of home.
