Light Show
We had another slow start to the day, but had plans. TT and I headed into Edinburgh as we had a couple of things to do. Errands done, we picked up some sandwiches and headed to TT’s office, where he had to pick some papers up. We also took the opportunity to eat our lunch there, and to dry off from the rain. Meanwhile BB was meant to be coming into Edinburgh to meet us. His bus was running late, but we three did all meet up at the Lyceum in time to watch an Edinburgh Christmas Carol. BB had just enough time to scoff his lunch before the show started.
We all enjoyed the show – even though we have seen it before. It was the last live performance Christmas show in 2019. It’s a mix of Charles Dickens, Greyfriars Bobby, with a good bit of Scottish Presbyterianism thrown in for good measure, reminding us that Christmas Day was not recognised as a public holiday in Scotland until 1958, and Boxing Day until 1974. We then wandered down to the bookshop and killed some time before going for tea in Wagamama, then heading home on the bus.
Once home I did a few jobs around the house, popped out for a quick walk and came home to find TT ensconced on the sofa watching Slow Horses, while working his way through a selection box!
There was a great light show on the Johnnie Walker building.
