Holmes Water

… not Homes Water, as I had thought it was called. It’s a tributary of the Tweed, between Broughton and Biggar, and site of family picnics, decades ago. I hadn’t given it much thought until preparing my Dad’s eulogy in September. Despite the dreich weather, it was nice to go back. Afterwards we drove to Biggar for a mooch around the cemetery and chips at the Townhead Cafe.
