Scouting for Beds

We're considering getting a new bed for the B&B Red Room.  The bed in there is fine, we'll probably re-use it elsewhere, but we're finding we're getting increasing numbers of tall guests for whom having a traditional bedstead is uncomfortable.

The local shop is having a sale soon, so we went went to have a look at what beds look at these days - and finding that the proportions of dimensions have changed in that mattresses are thicker, and thus divan bases shorter.    I'm sure that made sense to someone - ah yes, marketing people - as now we'll probably have to buy a whole bed rather than just a base.

(Yes, we could get a bed cheaper etc. online etc. We happen to like supporting the local economy).
