Taking a moment

There's no entry for 2 Jan because everything stopped when we heard that our great friend Alistair had died. He was just 60, fit, well and full of life but collapsed at home. We went round to see Jane and their daughters yesterday and their world has been turned upside down. There was nothing we could say but hugs and tears told the story. If there was ever a reminder to  make the most of life each day, this was it. We came back and knocked up a chicken, pistachio and feta dish from Jamie's One Pan book.
