Bannockburn

Having annual membership of The National Trust for Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland and The RSPB, I like to visit properties as often as I can to get my money’s worth!
Having flicked through the NTS handbook this morning I proposed a visit to the Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre in Stirling, as I had never been before. 
We were taken through the exhibition by a guide who explained the background to the conflict between Robert the Bruce of Scotland and Edward the 2nd of England then were immersed in the animated scenes of the medieval battle of 1314.
Unfortunately it was raining heavily when we came out so we had a quick dash up to the monument of Robert the Bruce for a few quick photos before heading home again.
