Inspired by thoughts of spring.

We went for a walk by the lake this morning. It was pouring with rain. Water everywhere. The lake looked fit to burst its banks.
Then I saw these tightly wrapped hazel catkins and imagined them with the sun shining on them, fully extended and discharging pollen.
We once had sundial which had the message, ‘count only the sunny days’. They come as a special gift after so much rain.
