Old man’s beard

This lichen grows freely in the woods around us and I though it looked very pretty with the rain drops hanging from it. Apparently it grows in forests all over the world and has been used as a traditional antibiotic (both externally and internally) since pre-history.
There was great excitement in our house in the afternoon when P and A (Lucy’s humans) returned after a three week break visiting family over the festive season. Both dogs were swinging from the lampshades they were so excited. During the evening, we couldn’t decide whether Bertie was missing Lucy, or happy to have his space to himself once again but he was very quiet.
