Welcome back Woody!

It's been a morning of small jobs followed by another trip to the Garden Centre to complete present buying for Hobbler Pal Sally.  I decided to take a circuitous route home through the estate to see the progress of rhododendron removal, and paused to read the information about the clearances tacked to a tree.  The work has been funded from the European Union (!) via Defra and it has already made a significant, positive in my view, impact on the woodland.  It will be interesting to see if these newly opened areas beneath the high trees will see the arrival of wildflowers.

This morning Tony drew my attention to the arrival of the woodpecker on the feeders in the elder tree.  I had to take this one through the glass as he is so twitchy.
