Morning on the moor
Set out with my neighbour D and S , blipper ‘Wilsden Walker’, at 7.30 this morning. The sky was clear and it felt quite warm so we headed up onto Harden Moor. You could see the sky colouring as we went.
The first surprise was the sight of the full moon across the moor but the biggest surprise was the strength of the wind when we hit the top. It was pretty chilly too.
We cut across to the lane leading to St Ives and as I climbed the stile I spotted the sun cresting the horizon. We stopped to watch it - blip. Meanwhile the moon had disappeared behind us.
We returned on Altar Lane and down through the St Ives estate meeting friend K with her dog coming the other way.
It has stayed dry all day and much warmer down in the village, wish I’d got some washing out! Got the tree down after breakfast with a satisfied sigh and then spotted all the cards! All done now.
A good start to the day and weekend. Have a good one everybody
