Party Planning

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Now that the festive season is well and truly over and Lisa has gone Caro is turning her attention to her 50th birthday party in a week.

IN A WEEK!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Caro prides herself on hosting big parties for the big numbers. I was not at her 21st. But I've heard about it. Caro and her dad shared a cigarette which was a big deal because her dad acknowledged that Caro smoked.

Her sister Feefs turned up in a "Jesus Dress"; some big floaty white toga thing and she flirted with the photographer and convinced him it was HER 21st and so all the photos of the evening are of Feefs. Caro is in a couple. At the back.

Caro was made to tidy up her parent's garden the next day when her mum found a condom in the vegetable patch.

Caro's 30th was also a big deal. We held it at Cafe Royal and I will try to find some pictures and put them in the extras. Feefs was there for that occasion too (it was the year that she stayed with us in Edinburgh). I remember walking home along Rose Street with them and they were both barefoot, having danced themselves dizzy.

Her 40th was at that place that was called "The Wash" at the top of the Mound. I'm not sure if it is still there or what it is called. For some reason I seem to have no pictures of that. But it was another big night.

This time, Caro has hired the Classic Flyers museum in Tauranga which is a very cool venue. She has a band and catering organised.

BUT NOT DECORATIONS!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Today the pair of us trawled around some $2 shops and arts and crafts places to get some ideas. I think we bought four balloons. So a long way to go yet. We also have a playlist to create. All the same I enjoyed my time tootling around with Caro and stopping for coffees.

And then in the evening we met with Shenée and Craig for dinner at Shenée's favourite Italian place. It was an evening of larfs, gossip and tiramisu with two of our favourite people.

Shenée and Craig, along with Jefe and Manda and AJ and Ellie will be part of the Kainga Ora kontingent at Caro's party. They will be accompanied by Tiger, Loulou and Mo.

I think it says something about Caro that people are prepared to travel so far to help her celebrate. And as long as they do not have to walk home barefoot, I'm sure they'll have a great time.
