Close Your Eyes, Tap Your Heels Together 3 Times

It was a grey day, but it didn't rain, so folks had a chance to dig out a little bit. The weekend will bring more storms. It is so odd to know almost to the minute when the rain will begin. Maybe people have always known such things, and I just wasn't paying attention, or maybe it's some state-of-the-art stuff that tells you what you need to know. They say things like: it will rain between 7 and 8 and it will be 1/2 inch accumulation. And then at 9:05 expect another 3 inches, but only in the mountains. In the flats it'll be 1/4 inch. That is, of course, a simulated forecast, but it's like that--precise and weird and usually right on.

I still have the Christmas tree up and lit. Every day I wonder if this will be the day, but I love the lights, especially during a storm. The tree itself is starting to look a little bedraggled, so it will be soon.
