Art
Down to town for a free facial at Clarins….the faux-science that the assistants tell you about whilst they apply different potions amuses me and reminds me of the time when I was at a hen day in a spa and as we each returned from treatments we shared what we’d been told. Apparently waxing of underarms or face is more painful “because it’s nearer the brain” and evidence has been published “in the beauty business version of The Lancet”!!
Anyway, after that I was tempted by a cheeky Eccles cake and coffee in the M&S cafe, managed to track down a tobacco coloured jumper in the sale at Seasalt and then went to see the SSA exhibition that many others here have already been to.
Enjoyed reading about the artists and their work and even am tempted by one (extra…the large one in the collection) which I’ll need to consider whether to buy or not. The main photo is of a prize winning Fine Art piece made of radiators and called simply ‘radiators’ by a recent graduate of ECA. Wasn’t quite sure what to make of it!
Got my nails redone before going home for some phone calls about committees and governor stuff, then a catch up with Sh about Orkney plans before out to an early dinner with KG. Had a lovely evening…..lots of chat of paintings, beaches, children, elderly parents and food based travel. Lots of laughter, then home before too late. Lovely relaxed day, very aware of the privilege of this retired state.
