Evicted

While in the loft over Christmas I noticed the beginnings of a wasps nest, not wanting it to develop any further I ventured up there today with a long grab stick, and a carrier bag to catch it in. Many years ago we had a nest removed from our garage, the man who came to remove it showed me how wonderful the nest is layer upon layer of the thinnest papery substance created by the saliva that wasps make by wasps chewing wood pulp. It fascinates me but not enough to welcome them to stay. There was no queen in this nest so it probably wouldn’t have developed any further but glad it’s gone
