How do they survive?

Not a great looking specimen however it managed to cope with the recent harsh weather. I spotted it tucked into a tree stump surrounded by garden debris.

After a lovely morning this afternoon is gloomy and damp. I think both of us are having a good day, John in his shed working on the slot car track and my task today was to make a start on decluttering rooms, it’s definitely a case of ‘don’t stand still or you will be sorted into one pile or another’. Moving the piles on to ‘wherever’ is another matter although little girl was there willing to give a helping paw, turfing out my recent inputs.
