A basketful of twinklies

Woke to a dark and wet day.. I found the little twinkly lights we had taken down on 12th night and popped them into this little woven basket... this was taken in daylight by the way.. mid morning but they were so lovely and bright compared to the ambient light in the room.. they have cheered me up all day.. 
I have had a successful day.. I sorted out all the papers in my cupboard and wrapped up all the tax I hadn't dealt with last year. This year I am going to do it in may (I say that most years!).
In the process I cleared all the other mess out of the cupboard and got rid of lots of it.. I found an old iphone 4!!  and a samsung slide phone from prehistory!!  I am going to send them to be recycled, there appear to be lots of companies who like to have them so.. here goes. 
We had our turkey for supper tonight.. just a thigh but it was lovely to have our fix for the year having missed out on it this Christmas.  Our daughter chose the right night to decide to come home for supper.. she had a few bits she had left behind and a parcel of clothes she had bought .. unfortunately she had a terrible cold.. do hope we don't now get it!  Thinking positively ... I am not going to get it!
