Holding back the bank

Not really. As can be seen, the retaining wall is in a moderate state of disrepair. Fortunately, while the bank descends quite steeply at the top, it is quite gradual just behind the wall. It is therefore unlikely that it will all collapse.

Pat had a very early flight this morning and had to leave ours before 05:30 to get to the airport, drop off the rental car and do all those things that take up so much time before one gets on an aeroplane. Because we both wanted to say goodbye and wish her well on her travels we also woke at 0500. An we had not been early to bed as the cousins had a lot of catching up to do.

This afternoon, I worked on tidying away the detritus from the effects of weeks of heavy rain on the banks, the gutters and the paths. My photo shows it after what I did.
