Baking under pressure

Keeping the chaos at bay. Unfortunately I had overlooked the fact that several weeks ago I volunteered to support a friend's fundraising by contributing some baking, and the cake day is tomorrow. Not that I had anything else pressing to do... Several things actually, but I don't suppose any of them would have tasted so good.

It's the concertina problem, I can see it coming and can't quite see a way through. There will be a way though...
