Training day

Refresher day at the Megalong Valley RFS. After exchanging a bit of local gossip over a cup of tea, we had a practice session on the various radios - it’s a worry how much is forgotten when we haven’t done it for a while.
A couple in the group are not confident in the 4WDs so we headed up Back Creek fire trail in the Cat9 and the PC for a bit of practice. Bad idea!! I wasn’t taking photos so I’ve borrowed one from isbi showing a few of us discussing alternatives for extricating the Cat9 from the bog. Simon is working hard on his head scratching technique.
The extra shows isbi at the wheel of the PC in which she skilfully avoided the bog. I must have trained her well!
