Road Unnecessarily Closed!

The County Highways Department will nowadays close a road at the drop of a hat - no doubt they will claim that it is in the interests of 'health & safety'. Whilst it is good to see repairs etc being made to our roads - and they certainly continue to need it - we are, I believe, being unnecessarily inconvenienced. Look at this example, on the way into Bury St Edmunds from our village. Only one side of the road is affected and since there's good visibility from both directions, there isn't even a need for traffic lights. (And after all, whilst it is the road into town, it's not a main road, so traffic is relatively light.)
