Blooming heather

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I spotted this heather coming into bloom. It is a winter-flowering variety, but even so, it seemed out of place.
I found myself doing some gardening in the late morning (that hadn’t been in the plan for today but the pleasant weather beckoned) but had to pack away the tools after an hour and a half when the rain clouds gathered once more. However, I was pleased with my accomplishment in that relatively short time. Now, we have a clear view of the camellia bush ready for when it comes into bloom.
